Over the summer, Nichole and I made the decision to begin participating in a few local crafts fairs as a way of testing the waters to see if it is something we enjoy doing (and whether we can make a few bucks doing it!). After some deliberation, we settled on the Ryan Arts and Crafts Fair in Denton, Texas as our first foray into craft fairs. The show is local for us and we’ve heard great things about it.
The past few months we have been busy gearing up for our first show. I spent a lot of time online reading posts and discussions on how to prepare for a craft fair. We’ve made a lot of items to sell at the fair – jam, fleece hats, pens, wine stoppers, bubble gum machines, ornaments, cards, and a few other items. We think those items will sell, but we won’t know for sure until the big day arrives. We’ve also been working on all the various items needed for the fair – displays, signs, advertising, etc.
We’re really not sure what to expect for the first show and consequently, we are setting our benchmark for success pretty low – we’ll consider the show a success if we make back our registration fee for the fair…$65.00! If you’re interested in attending (and perhaps helping us meet our goal of earning the registration fee back), the show takes place on Saturday, November 1st, from 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. A flier is included below. We will provide an update next week on how the show went!
See you there! Good luck!
